KRI KRI & FRIGO STAHL: Meeting High Demands at Subzero Temperatures<\/h3><\/div>

Seamless integration of advanced refrigeration systems into a live production environment<\/div><\/div>[vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

Just a few kilometers outside Serres, at the heart of KRI KRI’s ice cream production facility, FRIGO STAHL has successfully delivered another highly complex, precision-driven project. The objective was ambitious: to rapidly build new infrastructure to accommodate and support the installation of cutting-edge, automated ice cream production lines – all while the existing facility remained fully operational.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The project included the construction of a new engine room and the implementation of a\u00a0multi-stage ammonia refrigeration system (NH\u2083)<\/b>\u00a0with a total cooling capacity of\u00a02,896 KWR<\/b>, certified under the\u00a0PED directive<\/b>\u00a0by an independent inspection body.\u00a0<\/span>Key elements of the system included:<\/p>\n

  • A\u00a0568 KWR<\/b>\u00a0refrigeration cycle for a new ice cream freezing tunnel at -45\u00b0C<\/span><\/li>\n
  • A\u00a0658 KWR<\/b>\u00a0refrigeration cyclefor seven high-performance ice cream machines at -35\u00b0C<\/span><\/li>\n
  • A\u00a01,670 KWR<\/b>\u00a0booster stage operating at -10\u00b0C<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Installation of\u00a09 screw compressors<\/b>,\u00a02 evaporative condensers<\/b>, and a new\u00a01,250 KVA substation<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Alongside the refrigeration infrastructure, an existing\u00a01,000 m\u00b2 steel-frame building<\/b>\u00a0was structurally reinforced, fully renovated, and outfitted with advanced refrigeration, electrical, and network systems \u2014 transforming it into a highly functional production space that meets stringent standards for hygiene, ergonomics, and energy efficiency.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    To accommodate KRI KRI’s ongoing production schedule, construction was executed in\u00a0phases<\/b>, allowing for the progressive installation of new equipment without any interruption to factory operations. The total project duration was less than\u00a0four months<\/b>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    According to Mr. Spyros Tavlikos, Technical Director of KRI KRI:<\/span><\/p>\n

    “When production lines are running and new infrastructure is being built simultaneously, there’s zero margin for error. FRIGO STAHL understood the complexity of the situation immediately. They treated the facility like a living system\u2014responding daily with solutions, not questions. The result wasn’t just technically excellent, it was fully operational when we needed it.”<\/span><\/p>\n

    “Projects like these aren’t just about cooling capacity or square footage. What truly matters is the ability to align technical solutions with the pace of production.     This project is part of KRI KRI’s broader investment strategy to expand its ice cream production capacity and deliver innovation to the Greek and international markets.<\/span><\/p>\n
