AB TRUSTS FRIGO STAHL AGAIN

EXPANSION OF THE COOLING CHAMBER WING WITH THE LOGISTICS CENTER OPERATING AT FULL CAPACITY

Back in 2008, Frigo Stahl undertook the installation of mechanical refrigeration facilities and panels at AB Vassilopoulos’ primary distribution center. Fast forward 15 years, and the management of AB has once again chosen Frigo Stahl to expand the capacity of their largest distribution center in Oinofyta.

This building and mechanical expansion aimed to accommodate the company’s growing demands, including the addition of a chilled hanging distribution area equipped with specialized machinery and 4 loading/unloading positions. Furthermore, a new cross-docking wing was constructed, featuring 14 loading/unloading positions under refrigerated conditions, a deep freezing chamber, and auxiliary spaces such as traffic and storage offices. An extension of the existing building was also made to accommodate presses. To ensure sufficient cooling capacity, the ammonia refrigeration room, completed in 2009, was expanded and remains one of the top facilities in Greece.

Despite facing continuous workload pressures, the project team successfully completed the expansion in less than 9 months, delivering a Logistic Center that meets the stringent specifications of AB Vassilopoulos which are the highest in the Greek market.
