ISOMAT: Successful Completion of the Innovative EPS Production Unit Project
The first in Greece to operate with zero direct CO₂ emissions
We are proud to announce the successful completion and handover of ISOMAT’s new expanded polystyrene (EPS) production unit at its main facilities in Agios Athanasios, Thessaloniki. This project, finalized in under 12 months, marks a major advancement for both the industry and environmental sustainability. It is the first and only facility in Greece to operate with zero direct carbon dioxide emissions.
The EPS unit began pilot operations in the summer of 2024 and became fully operational by early September, demonstrating our team’s high level of expertise and efficiency. This project is part of ISOMAT’s larger investment strategy, which focuses on facility upgrades, product portfolio expansion, and sustainable development through renewable energy sources.
Cutting-Edge Solutions and Exceptional Standards
The project was assigned to our company, with a commitment to delivering the work according to specifications, on time, within budget, and with the highest quality standards. The scope included the construction of production and storage buildings, covering a total area of 4,500m². Additionally, the surrounding area of 12,000m² was developed to accommodate material storage and logistics, ensuring maximum efficiency and functionality for the new facility.

Dedication to Long-Standing Partnerships
ISOMAT’s Construction Project Coordinator, Haris Gousgouriotis, commented: “Our exceptional and productive 10-year partnership with FRIGO STAHL has once again been proven by the successful delivery of our fifth joint project. FRIGO STAHL’s expertise and knowledge were key to the timely and successful completion of our new production unit.”
ISOMAT’s continued trust in FRIGO STAHL highlights the company’s ability to consistently deliver high-quality services and manage complex projects within tight deadlines.
Advancing Sustainable Development
The completion of the new EPS unit represents a significant milestone in sustainable construction in Greece. By completely eliminating direct CO₂ emissions through the use of electricity in production instead of fossil fuels, and heavily relying on renewable energy sources, ISOMAT and FRIGO STAHL are setting new benchmarks for the future of industrial construction while reducing their environmental footprint.
