Construction of two 30m high self-supporting cold stores, where the shelves are the supporting structure of the whole building and the base for the refrigeration equipment. The construction is airtight to enable operations in a low oxygen environment, and eliminate fire hazards.

Project Highlights

  • Refrigerated area volume ~ 115,000 m3

  • Cooling Capacity: 1000kWR

  • The whole structure is resting on a reinforced concrete bed foundation based on a system of deep concrete piles and a system of beams

  • Fully automated storage and handling system of goods that operates with four cranes

  • Use of air locks at connection points with the rest of the factory to maintain low oxygen levels
